LOAN REVIEW OFFICER


Department: Credit Risk Management
Reports to: Chief Credit Officer

Summary: Responsible for ongoing assessment of asset quality within the bank?s loan portfolio including, evaluating regulatory compliance, quality of initial loan underwriting, and ongoing supervision of the loans by the lending staff.

Specific Job Functions:

? Provide an ongoing assessment of asset quality, independent of the lending function.
? Maintain a good working knowledge of the Bank?s lending policies and procedures and identify deviations from policy.
? Work closely with Credit Risk Group to assist with identifying potential adversely graded loans.
? Conduct periodic physical inspections of underlying collateral.
? Report to the Special Asset Committee any findings which may have an adverse affect on loan collateral or a borrower?s ability to repay the loan.
? Periodically review and provide oversight analysis for residential and consumer lending policy, procedures and servicing functions within the Bank.
? Assist with post-origination classification of loan assets for accounting and regulatory capital adequacy requirements.

Job Requirements:

? Minimum 5 years experience as a bank examiner or loan review officer in a commercial bank
? Formal training as bank examiner or loan review officer
? Bachelor of Science degree in accounting, financial management or business administration; MBA preferred.
? Working knowledge of regulatory definitions for loan classifications
? Working knowledge of regulatory appraisal guidelines and other regulatory requirements
? Excellent analytical skills and the ability to work well with limited supervision;
? Good interpersonal skills;
? Good writing skills
? Strong computer skills with a complete knowledge of Word and Excel are essential, knowledge of Access is helpful
