West Georgia Technical College Position: Clinical Coordinator, Dental Hygiene Program Location: Douglas Campus, Douglasville Department: Academic Affairs Reports to: Program Director, Dental Hygiene FLSA: Exempt; works minimum of 40 hours per week on campus Nature of Duties: Under general supervision, prepares lesson plans for classroom instruction for credited technical/occupational courses; develops program curriculum, syllabi, goals, and objectives; teaches classroom and clinical courses; evaluates students? progress in attaining goals and objectives. Requests and maintains supplies and equipment and prepares budget requests; maintains program certification/accreditation requirements as appropriate. Prepares and maintains all required documentation and administrative reports; attends professional development training, workshops, seminars, and conferences; ensures safety and security requirements are met in the discipline area; meets with students, staff members and other educators to discuss students? instructional programs and other issues; assists with recruitment, retention, and job placement efforts; maintains knowledge of current trends and developments in the field; responsible for maintaining an advisory committee; will work closely with health occupational instructors at the secondary level. Position may require committee and project assignments as well as day/evening classes and activities. Responsibilities also include evaluating students in a clinical setting; teaching DH classes; correlating clinical education with didactic education using approved curriculum format; periodically helps review and revise clinical course material; maintain current knowledge of the professional discipline and educational methodologies through continuing professional development; maintain current knowledge of program policies, procedures and student progress; oversees all clinical inventory needs and clinical equipment repairs; and follows and teaches OSHA infection control standards. Minimum Qualifications: ? A baccalaureate degree; ? Holds current GA Dental Hygiene License ? Proficient in curriculum development, supervision, instruction, evaluation and counseling; and ? Three full years of fulltime experience in field. Preferred Qualifications:
A minimum of 18 hours completed toward Master?s Degree in health related field;
Supervisory experience; Previous post-secondary teaching experience; and Active member of professional organization. Salary/Benefits: According to experience.
