JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Successful candidate will collaborate with the Education and Outreach Supervisor to lead education activities, workshops, outreach events, and engage with internal and external customers for support of the Commission's workers' compensation systems, policies, and programs. Design, produce, and deliver brochures, newsletters, e-communications, and presentations for Education and Outreach training purposes for internal and external customers. Perform day-to-day Education and Outreach tasks, such as updating the Commission Web site content with current and relevant information; communicating with internal and external customers to keep abreast of Education and Outreach needs; and researching new education, training, and learning methodologies to ensure that the needs of internal and external customers can be met.
TO QUALIFY:
REQUIRES: Bachelor's Degree with coursework in education, adult learning, training or a related field or the equivalent combination of education and/or experience. Knowledge of principles and methods for curriculum and training design, teaching and instruction for individuals and groups, and the measurement of training effects. Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer service including customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction. Knowledge of media production, communication, and dissemination techniques and methods including alternative ways to inform via written, oral, and visual media. Proven ability to define training needs and monitor training programs? continued effectiveness. Must possess strong listening skills with the ability to interpret and translate technical and non-technical content into an effective instructional design format. Knowledge of Virginia Workers' Compensation Commission systems, policies, and programs preferred. Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing with internal and external customers at all levels, ability to creatively problem-solve, and recognize and prioritize work tasks efficiently. Ability to travel occasionally overnight. Must pass criminal background check.
