Programmer Analyst (Data Processing Programmer Analyst)

THE JOB: Under direction, analyze, design, develop, test and support web-based business applications. This is the full journey level class for combined business applications analysis, design and programming work. Positions in this class are normally assigned applications design and analysis work and programming work for systems of moderate complexity, or for segments of complex systems, or for complex systems with technical assistance. Incumbents are expected to be proficient in both applications design and analysis, and in applications programming. Incumbents may also be expected to serve as a resource to other staff on a particular system or programming tool. Incumbents will work with customers to develop requirements and prioritize enhancements. The current vacancy is in the Information Systems Department. The department uses .NET and SQL Server for in-house developed applications. The list established from this recruitment may be used to fill current and future part-time, full-time, temporary, and substitute vacancies during the life of the eligible list.

THE REQUIREMENTS: Any combination of training and experience, which would provide the required knowledge and abilities, is qualifying. Typical ways to obtain these knowledge and abilities would be:

Two years of experience performing both data processing systems analysis/design and programming for business applications, which entailed analysis and design of several systems or segments of major systems. OR Three years of business applications programming, including experience in performing complex and difficult programming, AND experience in analysis and design of business application systems.
