What’s better than finding a trusted organization to partner with for Veteran hiring? How about a networked group of organizations, with a range of services, all working to connect Veterans with employers. The Virginia Department of Veterans Services offers a range of programs to get started with Veteran hiring, build on an existing program or get access to recently trained Veterans.
If you’re new to Veteran hiring, or new to hiring in Virginia, you might not have the resources in place to effectively target your Veteran recruiting. Virginia Values Veterans (V3) helps companies implement best practices for recruiting, hiring and retaining Veterans. Created to help companies who want to hire Veterans, but don’t know how to get started, this free program offers certification and access to strategic partnerships in the Veteran community. Certification is easily done online or in person and typically takes only 2-3 months to complete. Find out more at: https://dvsv3.com/
Looking to fill key positions or understand what the Veteran talent pool can offer? The Virginia Transition Assistance Program (VTAP) is committed to helping service members through employment, education and entrepreneurship, connecting them with employers through career networking events, fellowship programs, hiring events and job fairs. A full listing of their upcoming events can be found at: https://www.dvs.virginia.gov/education-employment/virginia-transition-assistance-program-vtap
Healthcare employers in Virginia have an incredible resource in the Military Medics and Corpsmen Program (MMAC).
