JOB DESCRIPTIONINTAKE SPECIALIST
The Intake Specialist is the first face to face contact that a person in recovery (PIR) meets in order to determine appropriateness for involvement in the program as well as the appropriate level of care.
Essential Duties and Functions
* Act as first point of contact for people seeking treatment services at CORE.
* Track calls for service and initial screening of people seeking services at CORE
* Complete level of care assessments to determine appropriateness for services provided by CORE
* Instruct educational seminars as assigned
* Attend Team Support Meetings, Recovery Plan Update meetings, and clinical supervision as scheduled
* Provide crisis intervention
* Facilitate Specialty groups as assigned
* Initiate and manage referrals for services either at CORE, or other community service agencies that could better meet the person s needs.
* Work cooperatively with the Resource Coordinator to manage referrals and follow-ups with person s in recovery (PIR).
* Work cooperatively with Fiscal Administrator to ensure that billing is timely and correct.
* Prepare case presentation for assigned clients at Team Support Meetings and Recovery Plan Update meetings
* Determine resources needed to meet the individualized needs identified in the assessment process and assist with the coordination of community support activities
* Ensure that all RHD, county, MCO, contractual and state regulations and expectations are met and that the program is prepared for review with limited notice
* Enter all required data into WITS and ensure accuracy and completeness.
* Complete all required paperwork within agency, State, County and MCO timeframes.
* Document groups, education seminars, individual sessions, and any other significant contact with person in recovery daily
* Document Team Support Meetings (Case Consultations) as required
* Document all outreach efforts
* Complete all other agency and licensing required documentation
* Attend staff meetings
* Provide escort support for PIRs on appointments as deemed therapeutically appropriate
* Responsible for on-call duties as assigned
* Attend training as required by RHD and licensing bodies
* As assigned by the Director(s) to insure continuity of care and foster a supportive nurturing environment for growth.
Experience in a drug and alcohol setting preferred
Bachelors degree minimum educational experience preferred.
* Master s degree from an accredited college or university in a human service field preferred
* Bachelor s degree from an accredited college or university in a human service field with at least one year in a drug and alcohol setting
* One year prior work experience in a drug and alcohol setting preferred
* Strong organizational, clinical, and interpersonal skills
* Ability to work both independently and as a member of an interdisciplinary team
* Valid driver s license
* ACT 33/34 clearances
* FBI clearance, as needed
* All trainings required by licensure
