L3Harris.com at https://l3harris.mergerannouncement.com/ Description: **Job Title: FPGA/Digital Hardware Engineer** **Job Code: SAS20201205-45486** **Job Location: West Los Angeles, CA** **Job Description:** This position is for an experienced electrical engineer to design, integrate, and repair control and processing electronics for airborne camera systems and airborne remote sensing systems for the DoD customer. **Essential Functions:** + Perform FPGA Design: Architecture, Algorithms, VHDL code generation, VHDL simulation, Synthesis and Device Implementation & Constraints, System Integration and Test. + Design Low/Med Complexity Circuit Card Assemblies (CCA) and Low/Med Complexity Field Programmable Gate Array (FPGA) starting from System De-composition and completing through System Integration and Test + Perform CCA Design specifying Mixed Signal Technology circuits consisting of A/D, D/A, Processors, I/O communication and Programmable Logic (FPGA, CPLD) circuits. + Diagnosis and repair of control and processing systems from existing schematics + Familiarity with quality standards and processes such as AS9100 + Basic analog circuit design (such as power and environmental controls) + Travel 5% **Qualifications:** + Bachelor Degree in Electrical Engineering or related degree, with a minimum of 4 years prior relevant experience + Experience with digital circuit design and layout for microcontrollers + Experience with diagnosis and repair of control and processing systems + Experience with FPGA Design **Preferred Additional Skills:** + Secret clearance + Familiarity with standard IoT and PC interfaces such as Ethernet, Serial, I2C, and HDMI + Familiarity with precision timing and real-time control systems + Understanding of FPAs, optics and camera systems + Knowledge of High Complexity Digital Design Techniques and Devices. + Hardware debugging skills & experienced in operation of Signal Generator, Logic Analyzer, Digital Oscilloscope and Embedded FPGA Debugging tools + General: Microsoft Office, DOORs (Requirement Specification and Tractability), Revision Control + Circuit Card: Cadence Allegro for Schematic Entry and to support PWB Layout/Route + FPGA: Mentor Graphics HDL Designer, Mentor Graphics ModelSim/Questa, Synopsis Synplicity, Xilinx ISE, Xilinx Vivado, Altera Quartus Please be aware many of our positions require the ability to obtain a security clearance.
