CGI has an immediate need for a Jr.-Mid Java Developer (Microservices & Angular) to join our financial services team in Plano, TX. We are looking for a highly competent, self-motivated, capable individual to join a fast paced Agile team developing Microservices built on Spring Boot and Restful API. Looking for Full Stack Java Developers with strong backend skills, good UI experience, and familiarity with AWS.
Your future duties and responsibilities
Develop, modify, or update applications used by business units or infrastructure units. Actively participate in development teams' efforts to determine unit needs and business processes that are automated by the application. Participate in or review all of the steps in the software development life cycle to create and modify the software.
Bachelor degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or related field
YOUR FUTURE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Advanced proficiency in coding in Java 8, Spring Boot, Microservices, as well as RESTful Web Services.
Good experience with Angular, Node JS
Familiarity with AWS setup
Work with product owners and other development team members to determine new features and user stories needed in new/revised applications or large/complex development projects.
Participate in code reviews with peers and managers to ensure that each increment adheres to original vision as described in the user story and all standard resource libraries and architecture patterns as appropriate.
Participate in all agile ceremonies including planning, grooming, product demonstration and team retrospectives.
Help improve code quality by implementing recommended best practices
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS TO BE SUCCESSFUL IN THIS ROLE:
3+ years of experience of development using Java and J2EE
2+ years' experience Spring Boot, Spring Core, Spring MVC, Spring Integration and Spring Security
Proficiency in Java 8
Familiarity with AWS setup
Experience with implementing integration solutions with RESTful Web Services
Proficiency in unit testing/Mockito
Hands-On experience with Database development and tools with SQL
Experience in CSS, HTML and SQL/databases, XML and JSON
Experience in testing automation using Selenium, Cucumber, and JUnit
Experience with build tools like Maven/Gradle
Knowledge and experience with CI/CD with knowledge of Git Hub, Maven and Jenkins.
Excellent problem solving and verbal and written communication skills
Passionate about learning new things along with good work ethics
Hands-on experience with AWS development using any of AWS services like EC2, EB, IAM, S3, SDK, CLI, Code Deploy, Code Commit, Lambda/Step Functions, Cloudfront, Cloudwatch etc.
Scripting experience using bash, shell or python
Experience with JMS, React, Backbone
Experience with code quality tools like Sonarqube
