Schick Shadel Hospital, is seeking an Addiction Therapist (CDP) with excellent organizational and communication skills. Schick Shadel Hospital, a 60 bed alcohol and substance use disorder hospital located in the outskirts of Seattle, has been providing successful chemical dependency treatment since 1935. The hospital, which claims the "#1 Success Rate" in treating alcoholism, bases its success on its unique and powerful counter conditioning treatment program. Schick Shadel Hospital provides a highly effective non-traditional medical based treatment gives patients hope and confidence in a positive atmosphere while addressing their disease. The hospital provides medical detoxification and an intense, short stay addiction treatment program for alcohol, marijuana, cocaine, methamphetamine, prescription opioids and heroin (smoked and snorted).
An Addiction Therapist (CDP) specializes in identifying Substance Use problems and assist individuals to overcome denial and other barriers to recovery. An Addiction Therapist works with individuals and their significant others in individual and group settings to foster recovery from Alcohol and other substance use disorders and encouraged the development of more healthful behaviors. An Addiction Therapist will coordinate with the medical and the nursing departments in developing an effective plan of treatment and continuing care to enhance the individual s recovery process and will follow the progress of individuals with respect to that plan for the required period of time.
The Addictions Therapist position requires a Chemical Dependency Counselor License from the State of Washington. Bachelor's degree in sociology, psychology or social work is preferred. Prior experience in Substance use treatment setting is preferred. Excellent communication skills necessary to develop and to maintain a professional relationship with individuals and co-workers is needed.
