Responsibilities

This Administrative Specialist position with thenDepartment of Surgery is under the supervision of the Contract and Grant Managernof Surgery. In this role, you will provide fund management supportnfor contract and grant administration, budget control, communicate relatednUniversity and Departmental policies and procedures to principal investigatorsnand Department Administrators. You will also assistnwith reconciliation of ledgers, pre andnpost contract, grant and clinical trialn(if applicable) application and other fund management duties as assigned by thenManager.
Qualifications

Ability to handle confidentialninformation with professional decorum.

Demonstrated ability to work asnpart of a team, establish and maintain cooperative working relationships withnall levels of faculty, staff and administrators.

Excellent grammar, spelling,nsyntax skills; ability to proofread very detailed materials accurately andncompose correspondence as needed.

Skill in reading technicalndocuments, such as contract and grants applications, awards synopsis, Federalnfinancial circulars, policy statements, and other materials from Universityndepartments and outside funding agencies.

Interpersonal skills toncommunicate diplomatically and effectively with all levels of faculty, staffnand non-University entities.

Ability to communicate and articulatengeneral and/or complex policies, procedures, guidelines, etc., to faculty,nstaff, and other University personnel.
