Dana-Farber Cancer Institute will be offering several ten-week paid internship opportunities for qualified graduate students and rising undergraduate seniors from leading university programs. This internship is designed to provide high potential individuals with the opportunity to further develop their leadership style and analytical skills by working on major initiatives in the Institute.

The Intern will work jointly with the DFCI Informatics & Analytics Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW) team to collect, clean, interpret, and analyze patient/provider related data.

Dana-Farber Cancer Institute (DFCI), a world-renowned Comprehensive Cancer Center located in the heart of Boston s medical area, is seeking applicants for its 2019 Summer Administrative Internship Program. Compensation for this position will be $15/hour for rising undergraduate seniors and $20/hour for graduate students.


* Commit to interning 40 hours/week for 10 weeks from June 1 August 7, 2020

* Contribute to high visibility projects and major initiatives, ranging from detailed implementation to strategic planning activities

* Partner with an Executive Sponsor and work directly with senior leadership teams

* Attend internal DFCI classes to enhance professional skills and leadership development

* Present an overview to senior leaders to highlight project accomplishments

* Will participate in networking events with emerging and senior leaders in the organization

* Provide technical expertise on data gathering, data integration, data storage, and data consolidation

* Assist with the data cleaning of patient data using SQL programming

* Perform Data Quality measures along the way to ensure accuracy

* Answer questions about data sets & analyses

* Assist EDW Director and DFCI PMO Project Manager with the management of project activities, meeting facilitation, meeting notes, and action items

* Maintain respectful, supportive relationships with team members and stakeholders

* Comply with DFCI policies and procedures

* Perform other duties as assigned


* Experience in Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel

* Candidate should be ready and eager to quickly learn a new environment, new tools and system designs

* Self-starter and ability to work independently

* Ability to work and collaborate with a team

* Strong communication and interpersonal skills

* Exceptional organizational skills, with the demonstrated ability to drive multiple concurrent projects to completion in a complex, deadline-driven environment

* Prepare and validate test data according to business rules using SQL queries

* Execute test cases and document test results and escalate issues appropriately

* Perform quality assurance of all data integrated into the DFCI Enterprise Data Warehouse
