Airgas is currently seeking an Area Sales Manager which may be based out of Fort Wayne, IN, Toledo, OH, Indianapolis, IN our surrounding areas. The candidate supporting our Airgas Dry Ice business, the Area Sales Manager, will OWN their territory for a set region (Indiana, Kentucky, Ohio and S Michigan). We are an entrepreneurial company and need someone who will run the territory like it is their own business while supporting company objectives by securing agreements and selling profitable new business. The candidate will be responsible for enhancing partnerships with their existing customers through agreement negotiations and securing new profitable sales accounts with long-term agreements. Candidates must have multi-state territory sales experience and agreement negotiation skills.



Area Sales Managers are responsible for sales growth, price increases, new business and contract administration. Candidates must have the ability to grow existing customers and convert prospects into profitable Airgas customers. Approximately eighty-percent of the successful role will be account management and twenty-percent will be through securing new business. The dry ice industry is agreement based so agreement negotiations skills are a real plus.



ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:



* Develops, maintains and builds a sales funnel.

* Sell profitable sales growth to new and existing opportunities.

* Prepare quotes, supply agreements and internal documentation for orders obtained. Be on-time with preparing reports and maintaining expense reports.

* Develop and maintain strong internal business relationships with Operations.

* Generate a written territory business plan.

* Maintain sales activity reports and Database Software.

* Overnight travel required to manage sales territory via car and some air travel up to 60% of the time.

* Remain flexible to take on other key assignments as requested.



QUALIFICATIONS:

To perform this job successfully an individual must work smart, exhibit strong time management skills, develop strong relationships and have good sales skills in negotiations. REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE:

Bachelor's degree (B.A. or B.S.) or equivalent preferred.

Minimum 3 yrs experience in selling industrial, food or chemical markets

Technical knowledge and an aptitude of mechanical processes is a plus.

Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office Products is required.
