Job Summary

This individual will be responsible for the internal departmental operations on the practice plan side of an academic institution.

The individual will have oversight of the following areas:


Translational Research Operations

Faculty and Non-Faculty Affairs

Undergraduate and Graduate Medical Education

Departmental Administrative Staff

Operational Efforts include Renovations, Quality, Web/Creative Services, Business Continuity, Asset Management and Training

Experience with academic medical institutions is preferred. Candidates with project management and process improvement experience are also preferred.


* Required - Bachelor s degree with four (4) years of related work experience and two (2) years of supervisory experience

* Preferred - Master s degree with commensurate work experience


May perform some or all of the following:

* Supervises/reviews all scheduling and timekeeping

* Assists with facilities management

* Assists with direction of faculty recruitment

* Directs/reviews procurement, business affairs, and supply chain processes and transactions

* Directs/reviews operational analyses, identifies trends, advises resolution, provides justification

* A part of the leadership team, makes decisions based on operations analysis

* Supervises operations staff

* Develops/implements departmental operational policies and processes

* Maintains control of departmental operational policies and processes

* Leads budget process, reviews budget entry

* Serves as department/center liaison to internal leadership and to external groups

* Lead department/center operational strategy

* Other duties as assigned


* Proficient use of Microsoft Office Suite and ability to master use of other programs
