SELECTION PROCESS

STUDENTS INTERESTED IN A SUMMER INTERNSHIP MUST APPLY ELECTRONICALLY NO LATER THAN DECEMBER 2, 2019. A limited number of interested students will be asked to complete a brief Skype interview with a group of internship preceptors. Students are usually notified by early February if they have been selected for a summer internship. Each students start and end dates is determined jointly by the preceptor and student based largely on the students school schedule, but most summer placements begin in late May and last 10-12 weeks. Prior to starting the internship, students are expected to provide their preceptor with any specific requirements their graduate program may require. Interns are required to complete a criminal background check prior to their start date and are expected to comply with all hospital policies, including protecting patient privacy and confidentiality.

Internships come with a modest hourly stipend. Students are responsible for arranging and funding their own housing and transportation during the summer.

In order to ensure a quality educational experience for each intern, we accept a limited number of students each year. Students that are not selected will be notified by email in March.

Applicants should submit a cover letter and resume only.
