The Business Intelligence Manager Marketing is responsible for two key area of focus within the Global Marketing Department - key market intelligence and marketing campaign performance.



Market Intelligence The manager will collect third party data of the Univar Solutions end markets and provide key insights in terms of global, regional size, market penetration, market place trends brand perception. The manager will be able to report this data out while also provide any key insights or recommendations based on the data findings.



Marketing Campaign Performance - The manager will use exploratory data analysis and use of advanced mathematical algorithmic methods to drive better decisions around customer targeting and understanding marketing effectiveness. This analysis will be used to help plan, measure, and optimize multi-channel marketing campaigns. The position will work collaboratively with internal clients & agency partners to identify data-driven insights, measure the impact of marketing efforts, and make proactive recommendations to improve performance.



The environment is fast paced and requires the successful candidate be flexible, responsive to change, a team player and self-motivated to provide process improvement ideas and solutions. This position will report to the Vice President Global Marketing and will work collaboratively within the team and with the greater organization to align commercial priorities with movements in the market.



This position will be located in The Woodlands, TX.



RESPONSIBILITIES

Collect, evaluate and disseminate key market intelligence across all regions in order to create a proactive and informed organization
*

Assess market data to determine market size and Univar Solutions share by product line and end-use market
*

Report key market intelligence on existing markets, with also an eye on new or emerging markets for Univar Solutions to grow into
*

Build marketing dashboard and other visualization tools to provide Marketing team(s) and executive leadership with key performance indicators
*

Provide ROI analysis of all marketing campaigns and supporting Sales activity
*

Work with Marketing Directors & Managers to conduct & collect key market research: analyzing competitors, determining brand perception, evaluate market penetration and understand customer needs ideally identifying market place trends and key indicators.

*

Monitor competitor marketing efforts, providing insights on shifts in strategy as well as monitor and report on key supplier marketing initiatives/direction
*

Follow major current and prospective customers and suppliers to predict future needs and emerging markets

*

Analyze marketing metrics to identify cause-effect relationships between marketing actions and financial outcomes to increase profitability
*

Manage market segmentation, targeting, and positioning exercises as needed
*

Work closely with Commercial Excellence to ensure CRM strategies are aligned across Marketing and Sales
*

Manage model development to identify new prospect opportunities that increase market penetration and develop lead scoring methodology with Sales, Marketing Managers and Content team
*

Coordinate and direct Regional Business Marketing Analytics Specialists (Future State)
*

Lead organizational efforts to develop best practices for marketing data analysis and governance.
*

Utilizes database querying, data manipulation and statistical analysis to provide critical business support to company leadership.
*

Review win/loss data to determine where Univar Solutions is losing, who were losing to and by which product.
*

Oversee marketing channel and advanced customer analytics to assess and make strategic recommendations to improve campaign performance
*

Present insights and recommendations via written and verbal communications that can be understood by a broad audience.
*

Become a champion within marketing organization in helping implement a data-driven culture focused on continually improving the understanding of the customer.
*

Educate and train on the use of data-based intelligence. Interpret key findings for the commercial organization.

Vendor Selection/Management of Data Providers (ex. D&B)
