Constructs, repairs, and maintains wooden structures such as furniture, equipment, partitions, and other parts of the Medical Center facilities, using hand and power tools as assigned. Assists with general maintenance activities as directed. Makes decisions of moderate difficulty. Performs duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with our mission, values, guiding principles and Mercy Service Standards.
* Education: High school diploma required.
Experience: Two to three years experience required for Carpenter III.
Other: Utilizes hand tools, power tools, adhesives and solvents on a daily basis. Often makes choices concerning the routine repair of equipment without obtaining supervisor's input. Errors in judgment could cause serious safety, comfort or life-threatening situations. Financial consequences could be high, depending on amount of equipment damage.
Preferred Education: Up to one year technical school preferred.
Preferred Certifications: Certification preferred.
