(New York, New York) Serve as Chinese Literary Specialist for Avenues: the World School. Responsible for: developing Chinese immersion curriculum materials that include age-appropriate technologies and modern student assessment practices for elementary school (kindergarten to 6th grade); planning and conducting teacher training programs to implement updated instructional materials; coordinating educational content to support and supplement classroom literacy instruction with focus on children and their learning styles; collaborating with classroom teachers, Chinese immersion specialists, and the head teachers of each grade to ensure that the literacy programs are cohesive; serving as a resource for classroom teachers when administering, scoring, and analyzing benchmark literacy assessment; researching and practicing traditional and new pedagogies; and conferring and communications with parents about the curriculum developments. Master's degree or foreign equivalent in Education, Childhood Education or a related field required. Must have three (3) academic years of experience teaching elementary school level Chinese as a second language in an immersion setting. Experience must include developing and teaching Chinese immersion curriculum across multiple subjects and performing literacy assessments to ensure literacy programs are cohesive.
