The Department of Pharmacy s mission is to provide high quality pharmaceutical care to our patients in an atmosphere of educational growth, shared respect, and communication. We are currently seeking a Clinical Pharmacist to join our pharmacy team with the Sidney Kimmel Comprehensive Cancer Center at The Johns Hopkins Hospital. The pharmacist will primarily staff evening shift and would not have weekend staffing responsibilities.
The clinical pharmacist will be responsible for providing both distributive and clinical pharmacy services in both the inpatient and ambulatory oncology infusion settings. The pharmacy will work collaboratively with members of the health care team, including physicians, nurses, social workers, dietitians and other pharmacists. They will provide drug information and education to patients, students, residents, pharmacists, and/or other health care practitioners.
The inpatient pharmacy services 155 beds across seven clinical service lines on nine acute care units. The ambulatory oncology pharmacy services approximately 160 patients each day at the ambulatory oncology infusion centers located at The Johns Hopkins Hospital and Green Spring Station. Responsibilities include verifying and dispensing medication orders, assisting with questions and clinical issues related to patients receiving chemotherapy, participating in antimicrobial stewardship activities, and more.
The pharmacist will serve as a preceptor for pharmacy students and residents of ASHP accredited PGY-1 pharmacy practice and PGY-2 specialty practice programs. Additionally, the successful candidate will participate in longitudinal projects, support drug research conducted by the institution, and seek to assume a leadership role in the profession of pharmacy.
* Current Pharmacy license in the State of Maryland or eligible for Maryland Pharmacy License
* Graduation from an accredited College of Pharmacy resulting in PharmD, PGY1 (or equivalent experience) preferred
* Hospital experience preferred
