THE COMMUNITY HEALTH WORKER WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR SUPPORTING THE DAILY OPERATIONS OF VIRTUA\\'S FOOD ACCESS INITIATIVES, SPECIFICALLY THE MOBILE FARMER\\'S MARKET AND THE MOBILE GROCERY STORE.
THE COMMUNITY HEALTH WORKER WILL BE A PART OF A TEAM WHICH AIMS TO INCREASE ACCESS TO HEALTHY, AFFORDABLE FOODS IN UNDER-RESOURCED COMMUNITIES.
THE MOBILE GROCERY STORE AND MOBILE FARMER\\'S MARKET ARE YEAR-ROUND AND OPERATES DIRECTLY IN THE COMMUNITIES OF BURLINGTON, CAMDEN AND GLOUCESTER COUNTIES.
MUST BE ABLE TO WORK MONDAY - FRIDAY, 8:00AM - 4:30PM
STRONGLY PREFER APPLICANTS WITH CURRENT OR PREVIOUS WORKING EXPERIENCE IN:
RESTAURANT / FOOD SERVICES
UTILIZING STRONG CUSTOMER SERVICE SKILLS
The Community Health Worker is responsible for supporting the daily operations of Community Health Engagement initiatives which aim to address the root causes of the social determinants of health in our region. The Community Health worker will bridge the gap between diverse communities and Virtua Health, fostering relationships and providing basic education to improve the overall wellbeing of the community.
Assist with daily functions as required by department needs which could include, but is not limited to, daily set up and breakdown, appropriate documentation, inventory of supplies, etc. Provide excellent customer service with all patient and/or customer interactions. Assist with sanitation and cleanliness to maintain a clean and organized environment.
Support the overall wellbeing of the community by providing basic education of community resources. Serves as community liaison to build trust and loyalty between residents and Virtua Health.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
* Demonstrated interest in community, social justice, public health and/or local economies.
* Strongly prefer experience/background in Nutrition, Food Services, and Retail.
* Must have strong customer service skills while interacting with the public.
* Must display ease and comfort with people of different backgrounds, abilities, opinions and perceptions and demonstrate the ability to treat all people with equity and respect.
* Able to work independently and interdependently with other staff and volunteers.
Basic computer skills and knowledge of community resources preferred.
Must have excellent customer service skills and ability to thrive in a dynamic team atmosphere.
Bi-Lingual (Spanish) strongly preferred
High School Diploma
Training / Certification / Licensure:
Certifications per hiring department requirements (ie: ServSafe Certification)
