The dietary cook position is responsible for providing nourishing food to our patients and the employees at Anchor Hospital under sanitary conditions as directed and in accordance with established policies and procedures.

* Prepare and serve food in quantities according to menu, number of people to be served, and portion control. * Demonstrate knowledge of proper food preparation including receiving, storing, handling, and following recipes. * Demonstrate knowledge and assure maintenance of modified diets as instructed. * Use accepted techniques in handling, preparation, and serving food to our patients and employees. * Receive, inspect, and properly store all supplies entering the food service department. * Monitor all kitchen equipment and appliances for malfunctions and proper temperatures. * Maintain a clean environment, including utensils, floors, equipment, etc. * Maintain a safe working environment by following all safety procedures, including the use of standard precautions, proper storage and use of chemicals, and properly securing the Food Service area. * Demonstrate knowledge of Material Safety Data Sheets. * Complete all required forms pertaining to the food service area. * Other duties may be assigned
Valid ServSafe Certification is required.
Valid Driver s License with a good driving record.
Food handler permit, preferred.
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating instructions, maintenance instructions, training material, policies, and procedures. Ability to write routine reports, correspondence, and etc. Ability to add, subtract, multiple, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percentage.
Additional Eligibility Qualifications
* Must be able to prepare palatable foods that are appetizing in appearance. * Must have knowledge of methods and procedures for serving food, principles of sanitation, and principles of safe food handling.
The job operates in a health care setting, which may require specific health screening. This role requires regular walking. This role also routinely comes into contact with patients who may have contagious illnesses. The role requires transporting food to our off sit facilities as needed.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. This position is very active and requires standing, walking bending, kneeling, and stooping. The employee must frequently lift and/or move items over 20 pounds.
Position Type and Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position in a health care facility that is open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Rotating shifts as well as holiday and work during inclement weather will be required.
No overnight travel is expected for this position. This role may require traveling to and from our facilities to transport and deliver meals.
