JOB DESCRIPTIONWE'RE DRIVING TOWARD THE ULTIMATE VICTORY: A WORLD WITHOUT THE FEAR OF CANCER.Provides technical assistance to computer system users by resolving computer problems for clients in person, via telephone or from remote locations. Including answering questions and diagnosing issues.Maintaining local IT infrastructure, keeping the infrastructure up to date.Responsible for the implementation and operational support of all aspects of client services and systems Interacts with both technical and non-technical personnel, monitors and enforce SLA s and follow problems to resolution. Contributes to development of Varian IT by participating in projects. Manage ServiceNow incident, request and asset management workflows functions by taking ownership, prioritizing incoming work, and delivering services under Service Level Agreement timelines.Install, configure, and troubleshoot client services such as workstation equipment, Microsoft and other productivity software products, Avaya desk phones, and mobile device technologies following standard procedures and adhering to IT compliance regulations.Support client-side interface to Enterprise applications by configuring software or diagnosing issues and collaborating with other IT support organizations for issue resolution.Effectively communicate to technical and non-technical personnel supported technologies and process information. Maintain password, data, and system security for the Desktop services environment according to IT Security processes and standards.Assist maintaining hardware inventory and software licensing information and records for deployment, recovery, and audits. Contribute to department projects such as upgrades and deployment of new supported technologies.Resolve and respond to questions received via telephone, email or other collaboration methods meeting defined SLA s.Be able to diagnose, analyse and solve complex problems and demonstrate excellent troubleshooting skills.Contribute to assigned projects. Attend conference calls and meetings with project team members and carry out assigned project tasks according to project schedule.Potentially engage internal or external Professional Services and outsourcing functions.Engage in department testing efforts on upcoming new technology deployments and provide documented analysis on any issues.Potentially assist with meeting conferencing or printing support services.Occasional domestic or international travel required.Maintain up-to-date documentation and knowledge base articles.Applies all QA Procedures as assigned.Assist and support the client services team in other areas as requested by the line manager Research root cause of problems and escalate to engineering and vendor support as necessary.Develop, automate and implement operations best practices.Assist and support the global client services team in other areas as requested by the line manager Educational Requirements: Degree in computer science or equivalent desirable.MCSA, MCSE, Windows 10 and/or SCCM certifications desirable.Number of years related experience: Minimum 5 years experience as IT System Administrator. Knowledge: Information Technology:Sound knowledge of and professional technical experience with Intel based PCs, Windows 10 OS, MS Office Suite and Office 365 Working knowledge and hands on experience in VMware Horizon, storage and networking (Routers and Switches) are desirable. Customers:Sound understanding of customer service professionalism, adhering to support processes and meeting customer requirements and expectations. Business Procedures:Ability to learn and follow Varian Medical Systems business procedures. Health & Safety:Constant training to gain and maintain a sound knowledge and systematically apply national laws and VMS regulations on health & safety in the workplace environment. Ability to safely lift 25 lbs. and the dexterity to connect wiring under and behind office or site personnel work stations. Skills:Fluency in English both written and spoken.
