Job purposeThe Diagnostician will coordinate efforts with individuals in the community to assure that intake screenings are done in an efficient and sensitive manner, maintaining confidentiality and demonstrating good clinical judgment. The Diagnostician is a vital member of the interdisciplinary team and will assist in developing a continuum of care that fully and efficiently meets the needs of the person(s)-served of FCC Behavioral Health.Qualifications* Master's Degree in Counseling, Psychology, or related field.* Must be a fully licensed clinical social worker or fully licensed professional counselor in the State of Missouri.* Must meet the Department of Mental Health's criteria for Qualified Mental Health Professional (QMHP).* Capable of conducting analytical evaluations and communicating effectively with their Clinical Officer, the Chief Operating Officer and other program stakeholders.* Meet the minimum requirements to be clinically privileged by FCC Behavioral Health.Core Job Duties* Review assessment information/documentation of person(s)-served completed upon initial intake.* Conduct a face-to-face diagnostic interview with person(s)-served within seventy-two (72) hours for all residential admissions, excluding weekends and holidays observed by the State of Missouri.* Conduct a face-to-face diagnostic interview with the person(s)-served within the first three (3) visits for all outpatient admissions.* Demonstrate a working knowledge of the DSM and familiarity with the diagnostic criteria sets of all substance use and mental disorders.* Demonstrates acceptance of the lifestyle choices of person(s)-served.* Demonstrates a caring and compassionate approach to person(s)-served care.* Development of the individualized recovery care plan for assigned person(s)-served with SMART goals, objectives and interventions.* Assure written reports to appropriate persons or agencies are completed in a timely manner, including the provision of such when necessary.* Completion of the DLA-20 (Daily Living Activities).* Completion of all required admission screenings.* Provides individual counseling to person(s)-served, as required.* Provides group education/counseling to person(s)-served, as required.* Complete Interpretative Summary based on assessment data and the diagnostic interview. Interpretative Summary should include a summary of the ASI domains and ASAM dimensions for the purpose of appropriate program placement.* Treatment plan review forms completed accurately and in a timely manner.* Progress notes written accurately using the PIRP format and in compliance with the 5-Day Rule (and/or site policy)* Discharge/Transition/Aftercare Summary completed accurately and in a timely manner.* Works with Clinical Team in assigning person(s)-served to appropriate treatment services.* Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.* Ability to interact with and relate effectively to individuals at all levels of an organization.* Ability to listen to others to facilitate an open exchange of ideas and provide for effective communication.* Ability to orally communicate information effectively and accurately.* Adheres to a code of ethics that is commensurate with their licensing board of adopted by the Clinical Services Department of FCC Behavioral Health.* Helping individuals develop skills and resources that foster success.* Ensuring communication and coordination with and between multiple service providers.* Maintain/improve professional competencies through training activities and/or other educational means.* Maintain awareness regarding the agency vision and assist staff in continuing motivation and empowerment.* Demonstrate a working knowledge of the DSM and familiarity with the diagnostic criteria sets of all substance use and mental disorders.* Participates in clinical staffing of person(s)-served to include attendance of meetings and/or written notes regarding person(s)-served cooperation and participation with program expectations.* Consistently complies with supervisory directives as it applies to enforcement of facility policies and procedures with person(s)-served.* Demonstrate a working knowledge of diagnostic criteria sets for substance use and/or mental disorders.* Establish and maintain effective working relationships with individuals at all levels of the organization.* Listen to others to facilitate an open exchange of ideas and provide for effective communication.* Orally communicate information effectively and accurately.* Ability to effectively utilize computer systems currently employed by FCC.* Assure program operates within the constraints of the agency's certification (CARF, DMH) standards and strategic plan related to clinical care.* Maintain confidentiality, at all times, within the legal framework.
