The Wireless Connectivity BU is looking for a strong technical leader to be a Embedded Software Engineering Program Manager. You will be responsible for the timely execution and quality of our wireless software development. You will lead cross functional teams in the planning, tracking, and delivery of embedded software to the product program teams.
Understand and manage the product MRD to properly define and scope the software portion of the engineering PRD.
Work with development and test managers to define and track milestone, release schedule etc.
Manage the embedded software development process to ensure milestones are met with the expected level of functionality and quality
Control embedded software development priorities, bugs/enhancements, and cycle times
Coordinate and organize technical discussions across Software, SoC, Systems, Architecture, DSP, SQA teams.
Create and present embedded software project status slides to Marketing and various levels of executive management
Candidate for this position shall be a strong collaborator and creative problem solver in addition to having leadership and Program Management experience around embedded software development efforts.
Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or related fields and 5-10 years of related professional experience
5+ years of experience as an Engineering Program Manager or engineering technical manager in the semiconductor industry
EXTENSIVE KNOWLEDGE OF EMBEDDED SYSTEM DEVELOPMENT INCLUDING FIRMWARE, API/DRIVER, AND APPLICATION SOFTWARE DESIGN FLOW AND DEVELOPMENT METHODOLOGIES
Demonstrated ability to design, debug, and fix complex embedded software, API, drivers, and applications
Demonstrated ability to effectively partner with SW QA, SOC design, HW emulation/validation, and application engineering leads to drive projects to completion
EXCELLENT VERBAL AND WRITTEN COMMUNICATION AND PRESENTATION SKILLS
Excellent organizational skills
High attention to detail
Master s degree and/or PhD in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or related fields with 3-5 years of experience
Experience with project tracking tools like Primavera EPPM and MS Project
Experience with bug tracking tools like Jira and Bugzilla
Experience with tools like MS Excel, OneNote, PowerPoint, etc.
Experience with ASIC development process, including pre-TO verification/emulation
