Job DescriptionCACI is looking for an experienced Software Systems Engineer to support the Exploration Extravehicular Mobility Unit (xEMU) Primary Life Support System (PLSS) Spacesuit project at NASA Johnson Space Center with software systems engineering skills in the design and development of embedded flight software (FSW) and simulation software. The xEMU is NASA's next generation space suit that will be used for future space missions including a return to the Lunar surface.What You'll Get to Do:This engineering position involves analyzing and developing software requirements, designing software interfaces, developing and maintaining Interface Control Documents (ICDs), developing and maintaining requirements traceability matrices, and developing software verification test procedures.This position requires a self-motivated, capable person with strong verbal and written communication skills. In addition to outstanding technical expertise, the individual must be very people savvy, have strong customer relationship skills, possess a positive team-player attitude, be flexible and willing to take on new assignments and responsibilities as they arise, and be an articulate speaker able to communicate complex technical ideas in a convincing manner. The individual must share our passion for our Nation's Space Program and share in the excitement of developing the next human-rated space vehicles.More About the Role:+ Perform systems engineering for embedded xEMU Caution and Warning System (CWS) software and PLSS simulation software.+ Perform software requirements analysis including deriving detailed requirements, decomposing higher level requirements, writing new requirements, and maintaining existing requirements.+ Develop and maintain requirements traceability matrices.+ Develop detailed software verification test procedures for embedded xEMU CWS software and PLSS simulation software.+ Develop various software architecture and design artifacts including those defining interfaces between software applications.
