We are currently searching for a Fabrication Operator to be based out of Weatherford, TX. Reporting to the Shift Lead. The Fabricator Operator will run various machines and saws in the area. The primary role is to use the machines to bend pipe by loading pipe into the machine and/or connecting pipe to the bender part of the machine. It is the operators job to keep an eye on specs and quality of the product.
The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma or equivalent. Prior success as a Fabrication Operator or equivalent position at Atkore International and experience in lean manufacturing or business system based company.
Additional responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
* Runs various saws and machines in Fabrication
* Help load pipe into machine
* Stack finished product on pallets according to packaging standard
* Band up pallet when complete
* Check angle of pipe on angle table
* Cut boards to size for pipe packaging
* Has knowledge on safety procedures for each machine, E-Stops, pinch points, etc.
* Informs Shift Lead for any possible safety infractions
* Informs forklift personnel or Shift Lead when running low on Fab Stock to be cut
* Must check cut length frequently for any deviation in cut length specs
* Housekeeping a must throughout the shift
* Minimum educational requirement is high school diploma, or equivalent
* Excellent interpersonal and communications skills
* Good understanding of basic math required for quick and accurate counting and calculations
* Attention to detail, accuracy, time management, and organization
* Must be adaptable to changes in the work environment, comfortable with multiple competing demands and able to deal with frequent change, delays or unexpected events in a calm and logical manner
* Must be able to work safely and efficiently in a fast-paced work environment
