Thank you for your interest in Ervin Cable Construction, we look forward to hearing from you!Overview:Primary responsibilities include ability to splice/test/repair cables/wires in both indoor and outdoor settings, read, create and maintain splicing diagrams, maintain activities surrounding the assigned work site(s), and taking splicing field notes. Responsibilities:+ Performs tasks associated with the electronic upgrade and splicing of cable+ Test, activate, and troubleshoot equipment after installation+ Basic daily maintenance of provided vehicle: check fluids, clean and organize vehicle+ Self-supervise all operations to ensure that all splicing operations are completed in accordance with customer and industry specifications.+ Safely operate and use bucket truck to complete daily construction assignments as needed (potentially climb poles)+ Field train and control/oversee the work of other Splicers when necessary.+ Complete daily production reports, mark-up maps, keep track of work hours, complete \\"as-built maps\\" for areas built and track daily production+ Reconcile all issued parts and materials on a daily basis to ensure accurate material usage counts.+ Frequently work independently+ Other splicing related duties as assignedQualifications:+ Must have previous experience splicing fiber optic and/or copper cable+ Ability to distinguish colors+ Must be able to read and build from blueprints and/or wire diagrams+ Have knowledge of telecommunications network structure+ Must have a high school diploma or equivalent+ Must be able to pass pre-employment background check, motor vehicle check, and drug test+ Possess a valid driver's license (class \\"C\\" minimum) or be eligible and willing to obtain the required license for the position (possibly class \\"B\\" - light commercial)+ Must be authorized to work in the United StatesPreferred Qualifications:+ Certified pole climber or capable of demonstrating proficiency as a pole climber preferredPhysical Requirements:+ Must be able to lift/carry 50 lbs regularly and up to 100 lbs as needed with or without assistance+ Must be able to work nights and weekends, if necessary+ Must be able to work in all weather conditionsBenefits (*Full-Time Only):+ Competitive Pay+ Health Insurance: Medical, Dental, Vision, and Prescription Plans+ *Flexible Spending Accounts+ Retirement Savings Plan (401K) with company matching+ *Stock Purchase Plan+ *Short & Long Term Disability+ *Supplemental Life and ADD&D Insurance+ *Paid Holidays & Vacation (PTO)+ *Tuition ReimbursementApplicants are required to pass all company drug testing, submit to a background check and adhere to all OSHA, state, city/municipality safety requirements and training provided by the company as required._____________________________________________________________________________Our Company is an Equal Opportunity Employer and prohibits discrimination and harassment of any kind including, based on disability and protected veteran status.
