JOB DESCRIPTIONAPPLY Summary: The Distribution Center Supervisor III is charged with successfully leading & influencing the entire distribution night shift team. The DC Supervisor III is accountable for the overall management and coordination of the activities of approximately 40-50 second/third shift associates including hourly union and hourly non-union staff. This position ensures that proper shipping to all customers and inventory of warehouse supplies and equipment are accurate and on time.
Relationships: The DC Supervisor III maintains daily contact with other members of the Warehouse Operations Management Team as well as Warehouse Associates. This position is responsible for maintaining positive business relationships with both internal and external customers.
*Supervises and coordinates activities of workers on second/third shift concerned with proper shipping to all customers to include proper inventory of supplies and equipment and warehouse.
*Determines hours required to complete assignments within prescribed goals.
*Prepares work schedules and assigns specific duties in order to properly fill and load customer orders onto trucks designated for local and long-haul delivery areas.
*Manages activities through use of Warehouse Control Labor Systems and continual direct follow up.
*Ensures proper use of company property/machines.
*Coaches and trains warehouse workers in various aspects of warehouse such as proper use of RF Technology, correct picking procedures, avoidance of mis-picks and overall productivity.
*Records and reviews productivity and performance levels to improve efficiency of associates.
*Examines work for accuracy and conformance to policies and procedures; enforces new pick-rate standards.
*Enforces all safety standards and sanitation control.
*Disciplines workers according to company rules and regulations. Maintains harmony among workers.
Required: High School Diploma or GED equivalent with a minimum of 8 years of progressively responsible experience in a Distribution Operations environment or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
Position requires a solid understanding of warehousing and production levels.
Working knowledge of Warehouse Data Control System.
Must be detail oriented and dependable.
Preferred: Bachelor s degree plus 4 years of progressively responsible experience in a Distribution Operations environment.
