Your Impact as a Chief Operating Officer

Responsibilities and Duties

* Develops operations strategy to support the execution of the business strategy, with a focus on the business and achieving outcomes versus managing a plan

* Provides day-to-day leadership and management guidance which support the business strategy and core values of the organization

* Establishes internal and external processes and key performance indicators to measure effectiveness and drive cost efficiencies

* Enhances the core business by building more competitive cost structures to improve flexibility, increase profits, and drive up investment capacity, incl. adoption of intelligent operations and freeing up capacity for innovation

* Combines technologies with human qualities to enhance workforce capability and productivity, with continuous learning to keep talent adaptive and relevant

* Establishes policies that promote unified operations and collaboration across BUs and ensures all projects align with Affinity s vision and strategy

* Owns management and budget associated with shared service capabilities (Underwriting, Policy Admin, Back-Office, Accounting OPS, Call Center, etc.)

* Establishes and manages effective operations governance mechanisms to resolve all operations strategic issues and challenges

Change Journey Architect

* Leads design and execution of change programs and leverage analytics and behavioral science to make change part of the organizational culture

* Acts as a change champion and engage the enterprise to shift to the new way of doing things and gain buy-in across the organization on the need for change

* Proactively manages disruption and to address paradigm shifts, new business models, etc. and shapes the overall journey, considering capacity to change

Qualifications and Skills

Required Experience:

* Bachelor s degree

* 10+ years of relevant experience in managing large complex change initiatives or restructure with prior operational experience, preferably in the financial servicesor insurance arena

* Proven track record of managing and building through change or restructure

* Ability to multi-task, manage projects and work within deadlines

* Professional positive influencer with strong communication skills

* People management experience

* Ability/flexibility to travel

* Business strategy mindset and insurance industry knowledge

* Proven problem solver and proactive change agent

* Able to form deep, trusted relationships with Affinity executive and BU leadership

* C-Suite presence and effective communicator

* Solid organization, coordination, negotiation, and persuasion skills

* Strong operational and execution experience (with large programs)

* Black Belt or Master Black Belt Lean Sigma certification preferred
