RESPONSIBILITIES

Idaho National Laboratory (INL) is seeking an Advanced Test Reactor (ATR) Programs Operations Training Instructor. Utilizing highly specialized operational and technical knowledge and experience, develop and implement DOE Order and company compliant Systematic Approach to Training (SAT) based facility specific training and qualification programs for the ATR, Instruct Operations and Operations Support personnel in the theory and operation of nuclear facilities, including the ATR. Advanced Test Reactor Critical (ATRC), and the Nuclear Material Inspection and Storage Facility (NMIS) in settings that include classroom, or on the job training. Takes work direction from and is accountable to the ATR Programs Operations Training Manager. These programs are equivalent to both licensed and non-licensed training programs in the commercial nuclear power industry.


Special attributes of the position:
Develop and Teach nuclear curriculum.

Responsible for instruction of Technical Safety Requirements, reactor operating principles and characteristics, and control manipulations as well as systems operating principles and standards.

Requires current or prior SRO certification/license at ATR or on ATR Simulator or Pressurized Water Reactor or equivalent reactor (including US Navy Nuclear Field Qualified Operator EWS minimum 2 years or EOOW/PPWO minimum 2 years). Must be a US Citizen. Must be able to obtain and maintain a US DOE L-clearance.

AND

For Advanced Test Reactor (ATR) Programs Operations Trainer (PR0300):

Must meet the requirements of DOE Order 426.2, Personnel Selection, Training, Qualification, and Certification Requirements for Nuclear Facilities.

1) Bachelors degree and five years experience or equivalent combination of Operations (SRO level) and Training Experience.
2) Experience consistent with the material being presented.
3) Instructors who provide instruction on the reactor simulator to certified personnel shall hold, or have held, a Senior Reactor Operator (SRO) certification at ATR, or similar category A reactor plant (or equivalent), or have been certified on the reactor facility simulator.
4) Instructors who are responsible for instruction on subjects such as Technical Safety Requirements (TSRs), reactor operating principles and characteristics, and control manipulations shall have received SRO (or equivalent) training.

For Advanced Test Reactor (ATR) Programs Operations Trainer (PR0400):

Must meet the requirements of DOE Order 426.2, Personnel Selection, Training, Qualification, and Certification Requirements for Nuclear Facilities.
1) Bachelors degree and eight years experience or equivalent combination (PRO400) of Operations (SRO level) and Training Experience.
2) Experience consistent with the material being presented.
3) Instructors who provide instruction on the reactor simulator to certified personnel shall hold, or have held, a Senior Reactor Operator (SRO) certification at ATR, or similar category A reactor plant (or equivalent), or have been certified on the reactor facility simulator.
4) Instructors who are responsible for instruction on subjects such as Technical Safety

Requirements (TSRs), reactor operating principles and characteristics, and control manipulations shall have received SRO (or equivalent) training.

Current or past qualification as an ATR Senior Experiment Operator or similar category A reactor plant (or equivalent) is highly desired for ATR Operations Trainer.

This position requires excellent communication and facilitation skills for interfacing with department staff, ATR Programs nuclear facility personnel, and ATR Programs management.

SELECTIVE SERVICE REQUIREMENTS
