Aon Consulting, Inc. is looking for a Health & Benefits Senior Consultant, Actuary in Chicago, IL.
The Health & Benefits Senior Consultant, Actuary will perform advanced strategy and actuarial consulting to include the following: benefit strategy, goal setting, benchmarking, plan design, pricing strategy, budget setting, bid/selection projects, corporate exchange contribution setting, and claim cost development for retiree medical valuations. Provide actuarial leadership on targeted clients/prospects focusing on broader business objectives such as: take ownership of actuarial outcomes by identifying process improvements, delegate responsibilities effectively; select, coach, and mentor team members, build relationships with clients, understand clients business, analyze scoping needs; and developing alternative solutions. Lead/facilitate complex client meetings to deliver measurable results. Act as strategic resource for Health & Benefits consultants. Contribute to the improvement of the practice through national initiatives. This position does not have the authority to hire or fire employees. Requires travel to various unanticipated locations throughout the U.S.
You Bring Knowledge and Expertise
Required Experience: Bachelor s degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or related field, plus 3 years of experience in an actuarial role. Within actuarial experience, must have 3 years of experience with: (1) issuance of actuarial opinions on Incurred But Not Reported Reserves (IBNR); (2) actuarial project management including pricing, underwriting and value estimation; (3) oral and written presentations to client HR leadership and management; (4) health plan cost forecasting; (5) discount analysis and total cost of care analysis across multiple carriers; (6) Medicare Part D attestations, creditable coverage and retiree medical analysis; (7) Affordable Care Act reform impact analysis and excise tax projections; (8) stop loss analysis for claims fluctuation modeling; (9) comparative benchmarking analysis of client benefit programs; and (10) corporate exchange contribution modeling and self-funded analysis. Society of Actuaries Associate (ASA) or Fellow (FSA) designation required.
