Overview

Employment Status: 12-month temporary, benefited, "non-exempt" position through August 31, 2018 (position may be renewed annually based upon available funding, availability of work and satisfactory performance).

Salary:$3,500-3,666 per month.

Work Schedule:To be arranged, 40 hours per week.

Typical Activities

Under the general supervision of the Project Director, the SAIL Program Coordinator will oversee and coordinate all day-to-day administrative, fiscal and office support functions. The incumbent will provide a complete range of administrative support to the SAIL Program, including oversight of the program's grant, state, gift and trust accounts, general procurement of services and equipment, maintenance of the student database and student folders required for federal documentation, meeting coordination, agenda development, travel arrangements, training and supervision of the SAIL receptionist and student assistants, and special events support. The incumbent will verify eligibility of new and continuing SAIL students while adhering to grant guidelines and assist the Project Director with the Annual Performance Report (APR) required annually by the U.S. Department of Education as well as the administration of SAIL Grant funds. Programming responsibilities will include coordinating and overseeing SAIL's Ambassador Program as well as workshop and event development and coordination. Lastly the incumbent will field routine inquiries and explain SAIL's mission, policies and procedures to faculty, staff, students, and the general public. The incumbent will perform all other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

Applicants must possess a high school diploma or equivalent; some college desirable and the equivalent of two years of experience in general office clerical work, preferably in a student services setting involving direct contact with diverse students and staff, is required. Applicants must possess highly effective oral and written communication skills and demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Power Point, Excel, and Outlook) and Google Drive applications. Applicants must possess the ability to handle confidential and sensitive information, along with the ability to work cooperatively with a diverse group of people, exercise sound judgment, determine priorities, complete assigned projects in a timely manner and work well under tight deadlines. A working knowledge of PeopleSoft applications, especially CFS Financials, is preferred. Experience in overcoming barriers similar to those of SAIL's first-generation, low-income student population is also desirable.

Educational Assistance- After 6 months of employment, tuition is reimbursed for up to a maximum of 6 units or 2 courses, whichever is greater. Benefit is based on availability of funding.
