Position Summary:
The role of the Software Testing Subject Matter Expert (SME) is to support the Program and Business Enterprise System (PBES) in testing information/data requirements from each software release to ensure the design, development, implementation and sustainment of critical planning, programming and budget application and IT capabilities have been followed. The SME uses detailed knowledge of Government test processes and procedures to schedule, run appropriate and present test results. The SME works as part of an agile enterprise team working with stakeholders, including technical management, functional management, project management, and business process SMEs to oversee the software integrator as they configure Commercial Off the Shelf (COTS) products. In addition to creating executing and verifying the test scripts, the Software Testing SME must be able to guide and execute the creation of automated test scripts for a web application using COTS tools.

Essential Job Functions:
* Reviews and analyzes existing requirements, test materials and outputs
* Applies knowledge of automated test products and processes to support validation and verification of web based applications.
* Guides and implements execution of manual and automated test cases covering functional, technical and security domains.
* Provides guidance on industry best practices concerning testing activities in all phases of the software development lifecycle and agile development methodologies.
* Researches and documents authoritative sources of the data.
* Validates and verifies IT functional and data requirements.
* Defines methods to validate how the technical solution satisfies customer requirements.
* Documents test criteria, test specifications, test descriptions, and test results using PMO designated tools.
* Utilize methods to ensure test sufficiency, efficiency, effectiveness, progress, and product quality are evaluated and measured.
* Executes manual and/or automated tests to validate the software solution.
* Documents incident reports, resolutions and software deficiencies using PMO designated incident management tools.
* Provides inputs to the Test Plan and determines effectiveness of the plan.
* Provides inputs for, and participate in, testing reviews and user training.
* Identifies testing risks and mitigation strategies.
* Approximates how long testing tasks would take to complete.
* Researches and documents authoritative sources of the data.
* Validates and verifies IT functional and data requirements.


* Required Skills: o Strong communication skills
o Proficient in MS Office suite of tools, specifically MS Excel
o Excellent team skills in an agile environment
o Excellent analytical skills

* Preferred Skills:
o Facilitation skills/experience.
o Working knowledge of SharePoint
o Working knowledge of agile
o Working knowledge of automated and manual testing methodologies and tools
o Working knowledge of Selenium

* Experience:
o 15+ years of broad/diverse background and experience.
o 10+ years of experience all in aspects of software testing
o Prefer 5+ years of experience working with the US Air Force software development efforts (DoD may be acceptable)

* Education:
o Prefer four-year degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical field

Other Responsibilities and Requirements: * Performs other tasks consistent with the goals and objectives of the department/contract

* Percent of Travel Required: Up to 20%
