The Idaho National Laboratory is seeking an experienced Training Instructor with technical knowledge and skill (both functional and training) to include the functional areas of Conduct of Operations and Lockout/Tagout. Team with functional area leads and Operations management to develop a training strategy and design and expand training and qualification programs to ensure competence in these functional areas which are critical to the laboratorys operational performance. Establish and/or maintain qualification programs in alignment with laboratory processes and in support of facility operations and research needs. Responsible to equip staff with the knowledge, practical skills, and motivation to carry out work-related tasks. Assist management with the ongoing, long-term improvement of employees skills, enabling them to fulfill their potential with the organization. Maintain technical expertise in assigned functional areas and use highly developed professional judgment in performance of assigned duties. Specific duties will include but not be limited to: designing and developing training materials, delivering classroom training, conducting formal practical exams, assisting management in assessing the effectiveness of training, and developing/implementing corrective actions as necessary. Maintain safe and healthy training environment by implementing organizational standards. Research new technologies and methodologies in workplace learning and use professional judgment to apply them to assigned training.
Minimum Qualification Requirements (Education and/or Experience):
Must have at least a Bachelors Degree plus 5 years relevant experience OR Advanced Degree plus 3 years OR 13 years relevant experience in lieu of a degree.
Special Requirements and/or Training:
Must have a working knowledge of Conduct of Operations principles and experience using these principles in the operation and/or maintenance of nuclear and/or high risk facilities/processes. Must have knowledge and experience with development and/or implementation of lockout/tagout processes. Must have proven excellent presentation skills and zeal for educating students using creative and innovative methods. Must demonstrate ability to present training materials with a high degree of credibility and enthusiasm while maintaining high standards and professionalism. Be qualified or able to qualify as a Facility Area Supervisor under the INL Lockout and Tagout Program. Must have excellent written communications skills and demonstrated computer skills using Microsoft Word and PowerPoint. Must be cognizant of and support company-wide implementation and maintenance of Voluntary Protection Program and Integrated Safety Management.
SELECTIVE SERVICE REQUIREMENTS
