Idaho National Laboratory is seeking a Drafter.

In this role you will be a member of an integrated engineering project team, applying Architectural, Structural, Mechanical and Electrical drafting skills and techniques to facilitate the development of engineered design drawings, and supporting documentation for structures, systems, and components.

Although this position will be multi discipline, it will require an emphasis in the electrical field. Work will include 2D line work drafting and 3D modeling using Autocad and Revit software. Perform work within the established company procedures. Understand company standards for safety, quality, and efficiency and identify conditions which may impede implementation of these standards, and initiating actions to correct these conditions, including stopping the work if necessary.


Vocational/Drafting Certificate or Associates degree in Drafting Technologies plus 1-2 years experience is required.

Experience with Electrical, Architectural, Structural, and/or Mechanical and/or drafting techniques to facilitate the development of engineering design drawings is required.

A basic understanding of various types of drawings (e.g., Electrical/Instrumentation, Structural, Architectural, and Mechanical) is required.

Drafting work experience in the field of facility electrical layouts, diagrams, instrumentation and one lines is preferred.

Knowledge of and experience in the use of nationally recognized standards (e.g. ANSI, ASME, MIL-STD, IEEE, etc.) is required.

Drafting work experience with 2014 or new version of Autodesk AutoCAD software is required.

Experience with 3D modeling with AutoCAD 3D solids is preferred.

Drafting work experience with 2014 or new version of AutoCAD MEP software (Electrical, Mechanical and Plumbing) using AEC objects is preferred.

Drafting work experience with 2014 or newer version of Autodesk REVIT software is preferred.
