RESPONSIBILITIES

Idaho National Laboratory (INL) is seeking a senior thermal hydraulics analyst for its Reactor Physics Analysis & Design Department. The position requires in-depth knowledge of the main thermal hydraulic phenomena and challenges in sodium cooled fast reactors occurring at different level, e.g. subassembly, core, lower and upper plenum. You should have extensive experience with sodium cooled fast reactor design requirements as well as a broad understanding of thermal hydraulics design limits.

You should have widespread experience with thermal hydraulic analytical tools such as sub-channel codes or CFD codes. You will lead thermal hydraulics design activities such as those related to the on-going Versatile Test Reactor program. You will publish work in various customer-required reports. You will be involved in the preparation, peer review, and delivery of proposals, program plans, oral presentations and other activities related to development of new INL programs and projects in areas of expertise. You must be able to work in a team environment but must also be able to work independently and show initiative.

MS degree in nuclear engineering or related field plus 6 years of relevant experience or a PhD in nuclear engineering or related field plus 4 years of relevant experience.

Demonstrated oral and written communication skills required.
