The Chemistry Medical Technologist II is responsible for performing all tests using our current automated chemistry analyzers and manual test procedures with minimal supervision as required. In addition it requires the ability to make judgments from appropriate control data regarding the validity of analytical results, and the ability to serve as a reference for less experienced staff. The Technologist II must comply with all institute policies regarding the confidentiality of patient information and lawful use of any computerized patient data.
* Maintain and troubleshoot all instrumentation.
* Maintain all record keeping and Quality Control requirements related to all tests.
* Must have ability to train others.
* All other duties as assigned.
AS, MLT (ASCP) or nationally recognized equivalent with a minimum of 5 years experience working in a chemistry laboratory preferred or BS, MT (ASCP) or nationally recognized equivalent with a minimum of 3 years experience working in a chemistry laboratory preferred.
Training in OSHA Bloodborne Pathogen Standard, Advanced Fire/Safety, Infection Control, and Departmental Safety is required annually.
