JOB DESCRIPTIONThe Medical Assistant Supervisor oversees staffing, training, and supervises department medical assistants at Walnut Towers and Methodist locations. He/she assists physicians as they assess, examine and treat patients, and update electronic medical record (EMR). Responsibilities include patient flow management, and assisting with procedures during clinic sessions. Acts as the liaison to providers and MAs to address patient issues/complaints that arise to ensure a positive patient experience.
This position is Monday through Friday, located at 925 Chestnut St. Philadelphia.
High School graduate or GED equivalent is required. Successful completion of an approved medical assistants program is required.
Medical Assistant certification is required.
A minimum of one year of experience as a medical assistant in an outpatient setting is required. Prefer three or more years of experience in a physician office, hospital or ambulatory care facility as a Certified Medical Assistant.
Must have a pleasant personality and experience dealing with the public and patients with special needs. Ability to work under pressure with a positive attitude and ability to organize information for quick retrieval is required. Computer skills, medical terminology, and experience with office assessments necessary.
