JOB DESCRIPTIONThe Microbiology Lab at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital is looking for a Med Tech to full time, 2nd shift
The primary function will be to operate diagnostic analytical equipment to generate reliable and timely laboratory results to facilitate patient care management.
Working independently in a fast paced environment
Receiving and processing patient specimens and performing rapid diagnostic testing
Culture reading using complex state of the art technology for microbial isolation, identification, and susceptibility testing
Hands-on training of Medical Technologist students and Pathology Residents at the bench
Troubleshooting and performing instrument Quality Control and Maintenance
Communicating test results to patient care teams
Associate's degree (AS) in Medical Technology required. Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university in Medical technology or Biological Sciences preferred.
BS in Medical Technology or equivalent
ASCP or equivalent preferred
2-5 years experience preferred
