Mental Health Technicians (MHT) at Friends Hospital assist in direct care and management of patients across all age ranges with medical and behavioral issues as directed by treatment team. MHT's assist with unit programming by facilitating and conducting groups and ensuring patients are engaged in active treatment at all times. Assist with daily leisure activities, and all activities associated with daily living within the functional ability of patients and with consideration for the patients level of growth and development.

Job Requirements

High School diploma or equivalent or combination of education/experience. 12 college credits mandatory in the field of psychology or human services. Prefer bachelor s degree or college courses in health care, mental health, recreational therapy, education, or human growth & development. Prefer one year s experience as a nurse s aide, mental health aide, psych aide, or the equivalent in a rehabilitation, psychiatric, or similar setting.
