JOB SUMMARYThe chief objective of this position:Supervise and manage the Pathology Information Systems support for laboratory operations to include personnel management. Interface between Pathology sections and central hospital IT services to coordinate information management for efficient and timely laboratory services. Oversee and coordinate accreditation requirements associated with Pathology information management to include Pathology managed and central hospital managed systems. Provide and coordinate information management design and troubleshooting for Pathology services. Licensure, Certification, or Registration Requirements for Hire:Certified as a Medical Technologist (MT) or Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) by the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) or Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS) by the National Credentialing Agency (NCA) or equivalent ASCP Specialty or Categorical certification.Licensure, Certification, or Registration Requirements for continued employment:Current MT(ASCP) orMLS(ASCP) or CLS(NCA) or equivalent Categorical certification.Experience REQUIRED:Minimum of four (4) years of clinical work experience as a Medical Technologist with at least three (3) years in a leadership role (senior/lead level) with increased responsibility.Experience PREFERRED:Previous Laboratory Information System experience.Strong computer skills: Microsoft Office (excel, word, power point); Microsoft Access.Education/training REQUIRED:Bachelor s Degree in Clinical Laboratory Science (BSCLS) from an accredited programORa Bachelors Degree in a Biological Science* in addition to graduation from an NAACLS-accredited CLS/MT certificate program OR Bachelor s Degree in a Biological Science with 10 or more years of on the job training in a hospital health care environment in a specific lab discipline performing high complexity testing in blood banking, chemistry, hematology, microbiology, immunology and clinical microscopy (categorical or generalist certification required). Education/training PREFERRED:Master s Degree in Clinical Lab Science (MSCLS) from an accredited program.#LI-NM1 Full time 1: Days Bachelors degree is required
