Seeking a highly skill Senior Network Engineer with the ability to perform and implement iEN/UT/MSE/CRAN projects. Apply knowledge of LAN/WAN networking to install, change, and decommission network equipment, routing, and perform host migrations. Test and evaluate network systems to eliminate vulnerabilities and improve overall network reliability.
Principal responsibilities are to upgrade the telemetry network within the Verizon footprint for network reliability. Successful candidate will review network design documents, prepare cutsheets based on current design, verify remote access of new devices, check router serial interfaces and perform Layer 1 troubleshooting with circuit group if required, create and apply router/switch configurations, place new equipment in-service, schedule site remediation with multiple internal groups and external vendors, submit change control requests, coordinate cutover during approved safetime maintenance window, notify user community of changes, remotely oversee migration of ASYNC and Ethernet connections with on-site field personnel, verify connectivity, decommission old equipment, and update multiple inventory systems.
CCIE certification is required. Candidate must have the ability to manage competing projects and navigate through multiple organizations and systems. Knowledge of all Cisco routers/switches, Arista switch platform, Subject Matter Expert level knowledge of OSPF and BGP routing protocols, Cisco VSS architecture, expertise experience with Cisco Nexus equipment, expert level knowledge in MPLS/VPLS, VXLAN, VRF, GRE tunneling, RIPv2, STP, HSRP, VLAN, EtherChannel, Ethernet, ASYNC, SYNC, cable pinouts, and Layer 1 circuit testing/troubleshooting.
