The Operational Excellence team is charged with driving continuous improvement through our operations through the use of Lean and Six Sigma methodologies. Our aim is to transform our manufacturing sites to provide the highest levels of safety, quality, service, and employee satisfaction.
We are looking for an experienced Operational Excellence Manager to join the Operational Excellence team. She/He must be able to manage and lead continuous improvement activities at our facilities in St. Louis, MO in achieving service, cost, quality and safety improvements.
In particular, we are seeking an individual with strong knowledge of lean manufacturing. As essential for the candidate is a positive record of accomplishment in implementing and inspiring an organization for daily continuous improvement.
The candidate will lead own projects, coach other individuals running lean projects and support the local management team in building a daily continuous improvement culture. The candidate will report to the Head of Operational Excellence of the Biologics Cluster. The position will be located in our St. Louis, MO facility.
Who you are:
An enthusiastic change agent who will identify variation and waste, and develop specific proposals and execution plans for improvement projects. You will help provide quantification of benefits - both financial and non-financial - for improvements. You work with site leadership to develop multi-year continuous improvement plans and partner with them to track progress. You will lead workshops/projects, and will prepare, execute, and follow-up on workshops across multiple sites and build capability in the organization through project coaching and through periodic delivery of training. You will manage the continuous improvement pipeline with the site management teams, including the selection, tracking, and running of projects. You will work with all levels of the organization to influence change, teaching, coaching, and mentoring project leaders.
* Bachelor's degree in engineering or science preferred
* Lean and Six Sigma Certified Green Belt, Certified Black Belt preferred
* Proven leadership in application of Lean Six Sigma tools
* Ability to influence change with indirect or limited authority
* Ability to engage all levels of the organization, from site leadership to the shop floor in continuous improvement.
* 5+ years of experience in continuous improvement, preferable in a process manufacturing environment
* Self-starter with excellent organizational and project management skills
* Ability to travel, typically 20% and potentially up to 50% at times
