He/she is a multi-skilled craftsperson responsible the installation/startup and troubleshooting of all mechanical and electrical processes used in manufacturing, as well as support equipment located in the building or on the grounds -- the objective being to maximize production and the functional longevity and appearance of the building, grounds and equipment. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Primary duties and responsibilities include the following, however, Management reserves the right to assign or reassign other appropriate duties to this job at any time. Follow all safety guidelines and participate as fully-empowered team member to achieve organization-wide goal of zero incidents Observes devices and equipment in operation and troubleshoot problems Performs various electromechanical maintenance functions Respond to internal customer service and trouble calls Makes necessary repairs to equipment, as required Perform equipment calibrations to all analytical equipment and measurement devices Examines form and texture of parts to detect imperfections Installs and prepares equipment for startup, as required Adjusts functional parts of devices and control instruments Repairs or replaces defective parts and installs special functional and structural parts in devices Provide timely and effective communication of important issues to supervisor Liaise and attend meetings with other company functions necessary to perform duties Responsible for housekeeping in work area Uphold a safe, clean and orderly work environment Performs other related duties as required Quality of work meets best equipment engineering and maintenance practices Work closely with all shift peers and production team members This position will be 2nd shift (2:00 pm to 10:30pm.)

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
* Applicant should have general knowledge and background in HVAC, manufacturing equipment, and industrial electrical systems.
* Applicant must have the technical skills needed to build, program, integrate, service, maintain and operate PLC's used in an automated manufacturing plant.
* An Associates degree (AAS) or equivalent from a two-year technical school studying applied trades is preferred.
* One (1) or more years of directly related experience.
* Equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.



LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Ability to read and interpret documents such as machine operating and maintenance instructions; safety rules and procedure manuals. Ability to communicate effectively with co-workers and other personnel. Ability to write routine reports. Must be able to read, write and speak fluent English.



MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
Intermediate math skills are needed to include the ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions, to practical situations; ability to apply mathematical operations to tasks associated with the production of mattresses.



REASONING ABILITY:
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.



CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:
Must have or must be able and willing to obtain a certificate or license in electrical, plumbing, welding, HVAC, boilers or PLC controls.

Must be respirator certified and knowledgeable of building areas where required.
