JOB DESCRIPTION

Responsibilities

In this role, you will provide patient support for thenWestfield Century City multi specialty office by greeting patients andnidentifying self as a liaison to patients whether in person, on telephone ornthrough the EPIC/CareConnect system. Collaborate with physicians and all othernhealth system resources, to provide comprehensive care and other administrativenneeds on behalf of the patient. Maintain clinic schedules for accuracy andnpatient needs, utilizing EPIC/Care Connect EMR system. Process all referrals/MDnorders by obtaining all required information and appropriate signatures.nRegister and schedule patient appointments and procedures and if unable,nconnect patient with appropriate resource. Assist patient with hospitalndischarge follow up appointments and follow all required patients throughoutnprocess to ensure continuity of care. Request, scan/upload and catalogue allnoutside medical records and miscellaneous forms into Electronic Medical RecordnSystem to ensure complete and accurate medical records are available. Serve asnliaison between skilled nursing facilities, hospitals, outpatient facilitiesnand physician offices to ensure appropriate billing documents and orders arenfilled out and or collected and processed.Qualifications

Minimum 2 year experience working in a fast pace clinicnsetting, preferably in a multispecialty practice.
Knowledge of specialty practices and workflows.
Skill in setting priorities which accurately reflect the relative importance ofnjob responsibilities.
Ability to establish and maintain and productive working relationships withnfaculty, staff, administration and patients from various social, cultural andneconomic backgrounds.
Ability to creatively integrate competing demands into a productive workingnenvironment.
Skill in verbal communications to clearly convey complex problems in bothnformal and informal situations.
Ability to interact diplomatically and sympathetically with a patientnpopulation in varying degrees of health.
Working knowledge of medical terminology and types of insurance coverage.
Working knowledge of patient related policies and procedures as well as anthorough understanding of the University system and it services and programs.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills in ordernto coordinate multiple appointments with staff from various departments withinnthe UCLA medical center.
Working knowledge of authorization process & managed care programs.
