The urology, dermatology, ENT, cardiology, orthopaedic/sports and vascular surgery opportunities are employed positions. The way we work hospital-owned physician practices is to treat them as if the MD is the owner. We negotiate a salary based upon MGMA figures, which is paid to the physician monthly. At the end of the year, the physician receives 100% of the profits of the practice - as he would if he owned the practice. We do not charge a fee for running the practices. As far as we know, we are the only hospital that operates this way. They also receive full benefits including paid malpractice, family health insurance, relocation, CME allowance. If you should find us a resident that wants to make an early commitment, we will pay him/her a monthly stipend to help with expenses through the duration of their training.
