Position Summary:

Under general supervision, coordinates the dissemination of information to referring/requesting physicians. Assesses the needs of the referring/requesting physician and contacts the appropriate attending physician and other hospital personnel. Work requires administrative skills and technical training as acquired in two years of college or equivalent work experience. Medical terminology required. Work requires a comprehensive knowledge of Hospital and physician referral protocol, as well as Hospital policies and procedures normally acquired during two to three years related experience.

Education/Experience:

High School Diploma/GED required

1 year of related experience required

Shift:

Capacity Command Center

Rotating Shift

Full-time - 40 hours per week

11:00 pm - 7:30 am

Weekend Work Required

Work requires a comprehensive knowledge of Hospital and physician referral protocol, as well as Hospital policies and procedures normally acquired during two to three years related experience. Analytical skills required to resolve problems, to obtain historical information to determine the specific type of physician service required and to provide physicians with information and assistance. Good telephone etiquette and excellent interpersonal skills are necessary to act as a liaison between referring physicians and Johns Hopkins Health System/Hospital.
