OverviewPosition Overview:The Policy Technician handles all aspects of processing and issuance of policies and policy change requests in accordance with a letter of authority and company guidelines. The technician may also provide underwriting support in areas of processing endorsements and quotes as needed. The technician may have frequent contact with insureds and agents to compile information and communicate the status of various accounts.ResponsibilitiesResponsibilities will include: Processes and prepares policies and policy endorsements, non-renewals, cancellations and reinstatements to in force policies. May support underwriting in the entry and processing of renewal quotes Communicate in writing and by telephone with agents and insureds Follow up to confirm all activity is complete and endorsements are issued in compliance of constraint dates Meet or exceed individual standards for productivity and quality. Perform other duties as assigned. Running Loss runs reports and applying them to the necessary files. Perform hard copy printing on an as needed basis. Proficiently be able to read a file and answer questions asked by insureds or agents.QualificationsQualifications: Must be able to accurately enter information in a windows based environment. Must be proficient in Word and Excel. Must have good communication skills including ability to establish rapport by telephone and write with correct grammar, punctuation and focus. Must be able to follow underwriting direction. Must be customer service oriented. Must be well organized and have good follow-through.
