To develop a competitive edge by ensuring capable process and operational excellence (Safety, Quality, Delivery and Cost). Evaluate new processes and improve current process capability, efficiency, and overall productivity in all areas of manufacturing in support of the Corporate WIN Strategy. 1. Refine and enhance processes by applying continuous improvement and key Lean manufacturing/production principles and techniques to areas of production. Recommend product changes/improvements to Core Engineers. Drive productivity improvements through value stream projects. 2. Improve manufacturing efficiency by analyzing and planning workflow, space requirements, and equipment layout. Coordinate input that may cross multiple teams or areas; make recommendations, and implement changes. 3. Assure product and process quality by designing testing methods, testing finished product and process capabilities, and establishing standards to confirm and validate manufacturing process requirements. Determine root cause of failure using statistical methods (e.g., design of experiment, SPC) that may result in changes in design, tolerances, or processing methods. 4. Determine the Best Practice process approach of material, tooling, equipment and labor process. 5. Identify and implement solutions for issues relating to safety, quality, productivity, and cost reductions. 6. Prepare documentation for new manufacturing processes and engineering procedures. Prepare reports summarizing analyzed process information and trends. 7. Share specialized knowledge with others. Represent Company on specific projects, lead and participate on project teams
Bachelor of Science degree in engineering discipline Industrial Engineering, Plastic Engineering Minimum of 5 years of experience in a Process Engineering role within a manufacturing environment Minimum of 3 years of experience defining control plans for Thermal Extrusion manufacture of elastomeric materials Minimum of 2 years of experience specifying automation and or recipe control requirements for automated manufacturing equipment Minimum of 2 years of experience leading technicians in execution of DOE initiatives Experience in compression and/or injection molding manufacturing a plus Experience in Toyota Production and Value Stream manufacturing methodology a plus The above description is not intended to be an all-inclusive list of duties and responsibilities.
