The Project Engineer will be responsible for managing project efforts in pursuit of FAA Parts Manufacturing Approval for airworthy flight hardware.

Responsibilities - Project Engineer:

* Develop design substantiation packages for FAA Parts Manufacturer Approval applications
* Develop 3D models and drawings for airworthy flight hardware
* Assist in the development of manufacturing processes for airworthy flight hardware
* Coordinate conformity inspection activities between the company's Quality Assurance department, ODA and FAA liaison
* Assist in the development of customer evaluation packages for new flight hardware
* Develop vendor substantiation requirements for outside manufacturing vendors
* Support activities related to new vendor qualification, including new vendor identification and selection
* Support QA department and vendors regarding drawing interpretation, manufacturing methods, inspection methods, etc.
* Participate in the disposition of non-conforming materials, including analyzing the non-conformance for fit, function, safety, and reliability, and communicating with QA, suppliers, and the FAA liaison as required
* Complete Engineering Change Notices and drawing changes as required for produce-ability
* Answering questions from customers and operators regarding our products

Education - Project Engineer:

* Bachelor's Degree in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering

Experience - Project Engineer:

* 3-7 years aerospace / mechanical design experience

Skills - Project Engineer:

* 3D CAD software (SolidWorks, Pro-Engineer, etc.)
* Interpretation and application of GD&T (ASME Y14.5M)
* Knowledge of basic structural, thermal, and modal analysis of mechanical components
* Language: English
* High attention to detail
* Flexible in handling multiple tasks
* Must have excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills
* Knowledge of aerospace materials and coatings is preferred
* Knowledge of aircraft engine components, controls & accessories, and/or aircraft interiors is preferred
* Experience in 14 Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) Part 25, and/or 33 type certification projects is preferred
* Knowledge of conventional aerospace manufacturing methods, including; milling, turning, grinding, lapping, stamping, forging, casting, molding, EDM, ECM, welding, brazing, heat treating, etc. is preferred
* Computer Skills: MS Office, 3D CAD software (SolidWorks, Pro-E, etc)
* Mathematical Skills: Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry
