The Project Manager position will provide strategic planning, implementation and operational support for the opening of DFCI s Chestnut Hill site, reporting to the Senior Director of Business Operations and Provider Services. Dana-Farber Cancer Institute - Chestnut Hill is scheduled to open in September 2020. The comprehensive facility is an extension to our Longwood campus and will expand our ability to offer the best care and outcomes to more patients in the Greater Boston area. The 140,000-square-foot site will include 49 exam rooms, 61 infusion bays and is located at 300 Boylston St., Newton the former home of the Atrium Mall at Chestnut Hill.


* Act as project manager for the opening of the Chestnut Hill site, including ongoing planning, implementation, and go-live support

* Facilitate Institute leadership decision making regarding key clinical/operational planning issues, providing leaders with in-depth analysis of various options and a framework to support decision making

* Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams (including nursing, operations, revenue cycle, IT, pharmacy, and others) to inform clinical planning processes

* Develop project work plans and status dashboards, and manage key tasks/sections within the work plan, coordinating with other departments and identifying/mitigating potential risks and issues

* Populate and maintain project documents; e.g., status reports and dashboards, issue and decision logs, and timelines

* Schedule and facilitate project-related workgroups, record action items and track completion status

* Complete quantitative and qualitative analyses to support the project objectives

* Develop clear and effective meeting materials (e.g., agendas, presentations, etc.) and other written materials

* Develop presentations/project collateral and present updates, findings, and recommendations to leaders and associates at all levels of the Institute

* Cultivate and maintain positive working relationships with leaders across the organization

* Utilize, and continue to improve and refine, a standard set of clinical project management tools

* Coordinate effectively with other Site Expansion Project Manager to ensure consistency across the opening of multiple sites


* Bachelor s degree required; relevant master s degree strongly preferred (MBA, MPH, MHA)

* 3+ years experience in project management required; experience within a health care or academic environment highly preferred

* Project management experience in clinical operations preferred

* Understanding of project management and change management approaches/principles along with demonstrated project management skills; business process improvement experience a plus

* Strong results-orientation, teamwork, communication, and interpersonal skills to navigate projects through a consensus-driven environment

* Excellent written and oral communication skills with ability to deliver presentations to a wide variety of audiences

* Attention to detail and a commitment to producing high quality deliverables

* Strong organizational and time management skills, including the ability to work independently and prioritize multiple projects and assignments

* Strong PC skills (e.g., MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, Visio)
